Affiliate program setup.
One of the greatest features of the Automation Station is that you can manage a powerful affiliates program that is completely integrated with all other parts of your e-commerce system. Here's how to set it up:
On the top menu of the Automation Station, place your mouse over "Setup" and click on the "Affiliate" sub-menu. You'll be taken to a different screen that has a total of four boxes that you need to fill in. Let's go over them one by one: |

1) Affiliate program: When you create your affiliate program, an affiliate center will be created automatically for you. On it all the graphics and ads you upload will appear with html code automatically created for your affiliates to copy/paste. On this first field type in the name you want your affiliate center to have.
2) Admin e-mail: On this field, type the e-mail address where you want to get all messages concerning affiliate-related matters. This e-mail will be used as a return address for e-mail messages sent to your affiliates by the system.
3) Default URL: Type in the URL where you want visitors sent by affiliates to land. We recommend that you use the main page of your website. You can assign different URL's to different products on your affiliate program (this will be explained later); this default URL will be used if no product-specific URL or if an incorrect URL with invalid affiliate information is used by one your affiliates.

4) Tiers: This drop-down allows you to select how many tiers you want to have in your affiliate program. We recommend you to select "Two", because you can later specify the commission rates you want to pay out for each of your products.
5) First and Second tier percentage: Use these two fields to type in the default value you want to pay out as a commission structure. The first teir percentage is the percentage of the total sale that you want to pay to your affiliate who directly referred the purchasing customer to you. The second tier percentage is the percentage of the total sale that you want to pay to your affiliate who referred the affiliate who directly referred the purchasing customer to you.
6) Cookie name: You can use any name you want to identify the cookie that will be set by our system and into the prospect's web browser. No spaces are allowed.
7) Cookie expires: Use this drop-down to select the expiration date of the cookie that our system will place on the prospects sent by affiliates. Just remember that affiliates will not get a credit for sales that come after the expiration date. We recommend you to select "1y" (one year) as the default cookie duration.

8) Affiliate URL: The affiliate center created by Automation Station is very basic and only includes the images, ads and url's that your affiliates can use. If you want to give your affiliates more specific instructions on how to work with your program, you can create a custom "affiliate center". On this field enter the url of your custom affiliate center; affiliates will be sent there immediately after signing up.
9) Affiliate followup: You can have your affiliates automatically entered into a followup responder for automated training, motivation, and back-end selling. The instant response (Day 0) for the series you choose here will be appended to your new affiliate login information automatically by the system.
10) Affiliate header: Using this field you can upload a header graphic to be used in your affiliate center. The image you use should not be more than 550 pixels in width. If you don't upload any images here, your company name will be displayed.
11) Background image: You can use this field to upload a background image to be used in your affiliate center. If you don't upload an image here, the color you enter on tab number 14 will be used instead...
12) Border color: Enter the color you want to use to outline all the pages on your affiliate center. You can use hexadecimal values or common color names like "red".
13) Background color.- If on tab number 12 you didn't upload a graphic to be used as the background for your affiliate center, enter a color on this field to be used in all the dynamically generated pages.
14) Update setup.- Click this button to save and store all the information you just entered on the 'affiliate program setup page'. If you come back later and change any of the values on this page, make sure you click this button to save the changes.
