How to add new products to your line.
On the Automation Station menu, place your mouse over "Products" and click the "Add" sub-menu. You'll be taken to a new screen that displays a long form that asks for all the details of your new product.
Note that this is the same form that is used to add products on both the "Single product" mode and in the "Shopping cart" mode. Pay close attention, we will not be filling out all the fields in every page...

1) Product name.- Type in the name of the product you are adding. Choose a very descriptive name because it will be shown on the order form and on the e-mails sent out by the system that are triggered after a sale is made.
2) Product price.- Type in the dollar ammount that the new product costs.
3) Product commission.- Decide if you want to pay out commissions on the new product you are adding. This powerful option gives you the choice of leaving some products out of your affiliates program.
4) Show to affiliates.- If you are going to pay commissions on this product, you can also choose whether to show it to your affiliates or not. If you select "Yes" this product will show up in your affiliate center, and your affiliates will be able to make links to it. If you select "No" then it will not show up in the affiliate center, but your affiliates will still get a commission when one of their customers purchases it. You might want to pay commissions but not show to affiliates for "back-end" products or "up-sells" that wouldn't make sense to market directly as stand-alone products.
5) Redirect URL.- Type in the url of the location you want visitors to go after they click on the link of one of your affiliates. This location can be your main website, a separate mini-site or the specific page that contains the product information. Please note that this URL has nothing to do with the product download -- you'll enter the digital delivery details at a later time.
7) Follow-up.- Customers can be automatically moved from one list to another when they make a purchase. The advantages of this feature are two-fold.
a) Once someone has purchased from you, you can take them off your prospect list. This eliminates the chance of you sending prospect emails to your customers.
b) You can create product-specific email series'. This allows you to followup with your customers based on what they've purchased from you. That way you can back-end complimentary products or up-sells that make sense.
Next, you'll see another box like this one asking you for more details... Be careful, this fields are only required if you want your product to have recurring billing! |

10) Recurring billing.- Select if you want to add recurring billing to your product.

12) Billing cycle.- Select the lenght of each billing cycle of the product.
13) Stop recurring billing.- Select this option if you want to stop the recurring billing after a certain number of payments. This is great if you want to offer an item with a high price and offer your customers a payment plan.
14) Number of payments.- If you set the above field to "Yes", enter the number of payments after which the recurring billing will stop.
Next, you'll see a third box asking you for more product details... like this one: |

21) Background image.- You may also upload a background image to display on the order form of this specific product.
22) Border color.- Your order form will be separated into different sections. This field allows you to select the color of the border that outlines each section. You can enter a hexadecimal value of your color of choice or type in a common color.
23) Background color.- If you didn't upload an image on the previous field, you can use this field to select the color you want to display in the background of your order form. Hexadecimal values and common color names are permitted.
24) Custom HTML.- In this field you can enter plain text or HTML code that will be displayed right under the header graphic on your order form. This is a great place to re-affirm the sale and remind your customers of your guarantee.
Finally, you'll see yet another box asking you for more details... Warning, these fields are required if you're using the shopping cart mode to generate dynamic pages and catalog pages. |
